Aston Villa loanee Leon Bailey’s return date for AS Roma has been pushed back and pulled forward multiple times.

The Jamaican picked up a muscle injury in his first training session with the Italian side. That chances of Aston Villa selling him depend on a good season at Roma, so it’s frustrating to say the least.

The winger has now missed more than two months of action, and whilst there’s talk about an October return it’s not certain. Bailey’s father-agent Craig Butler has now given his take on the situation.

He posted a video about the winger right after Roma picked up a 2-1 win over Fiorentina.

Butler said, relayed by Il Romanista: “Soon, the player who constantly strives for excellence will return. Leon will soon return to the pitch for Roma and help them reach heights no one thought possible.”

Further, he said: I believe in it, and I know my son. Watch. Get your popcorn ready.”

It is easy to see why Roma haven’t taken any risks with the 28-year-old. Considering Bailey’s injury record during his time at Aston Villa, there’s a balance to be made.
