Blackburn Rovers centre-back Scott Wharton has signed a new three-year deal with the club, to stay until the summer of 2028.
Wharton has made more than a century of appearances for his hometown club since his debut in 2016 and his new deal also includes the option of a further year.
The 28-year-old made his first Championship start in 18 months in the 1-0 win against Watford three weeks ago after returning from an anterior cruciate ligament injury and has made five appearances in total this campaign.
"Obviously, after a serious injury I've had my doubts whether I'd be the same player or be able to play in the Championship," he told BBC Radio Lancashire on his return.
Wharton came through Blackburn's academy and has scored eight goals in his 111 appearances.
