Anne Hathaway gets a sweet response from Arsenal's Leandro Trossard

Anne Hathaway received a sweet surprise from Arsenal's Leandro Trossard which left her starstruck on the Today Show.

Previously, a viral video showed her celebrating the Belgian's Premier League goal against Wolves with The Idea of You with co-star and fellow Arsenal supporter Nicholas Galitzine - where the Oscar-winner was heard saying 'I love you'.

On Monday, the 41-year-old appeared on NBC's Today show to promote the new film with Galitzine when she was blind-sided by a short video response from Trossard, 29.

Trossard said: 'Hey Anne, I really loved your celebration the other day for my goal.

'Keep supporting us, and hopefully we'll see you soon at the Emirates.'

Hathaway was left stunned by the sweet video message, and said she was 'shaking'.

Galitzine, 29, said: 'I'm more starstruck by athletes than anything else', and admitted the message had 'thrown me'.

Hathaway's love for the red half of north London was previously unknown, before a chat with Interview Magazine revealed her passion, by asking Galitzine about Arsenal's formation.

Her shocked co-star replied: 'Oh, thank you, Anne Hathaway! The people at Interview don’t know that we’re both diehard Arsenal fans.

'I really believe we’re in a great place right now. Is this a genuine question? Because I will tell you.'

To which Hathaway said: 'I just thought this is a good chance to get Mikel Arteta’s attention.'

Following the celebration interview clip, Hathaway revealed it had been a 'rough week' for the pair of them following Arsenal's Champions League exit.

Tom Holland, Harry Styles and Cara Delevingne are among the other top celebrities with unusual football allegiances.
