Arsenal are reportedly showing ‘serious interest’ in signing Bayer Leverkusen striker Christian Kofane, as per TEAMtalk.

After being impressed by the 19-year-old’s performances for Albacete in La Liga 2, the German side decided to purchase him last summer.

The youngster has mainly played as a rotational option this season, scoring seven goals and registering five assists in 18 starts across all competitions.

After showing glimpses of his qualities in the Bundesliga, Kofane has secured his place in the Cameroonian national team. He even helped his country reach the AFCON quarter-final.

Now, TEAMtalk claim that Arsenal are showing ‘serious interest’ in signing the African after being impressed by his performances this season and could make a concrete approach this summer.

However, the Gunners will have to overcome fierce competition to seal the deal as Chelsea, Newcastle United, Everton, Brentford, Barcelona, and Bayern Munich are also interested in him.

Moreover, Liverpool and Manchester City are in this race as well, and they have already made contact to learn about the details of finalising the operation.
