The drama at Chelse over Enzo Fernández’s comments has now been defused, with his agent admitting his client was in the wrong.

A storm triggered by one interview

Enzo Fernández is currently suspended by Chelsea after an interview that aired while he was on international duty with Argentina.

The Chelsea midfielder admitted he could see himself living in Madrid and would like to move to the Spanish city at some point.

Those comments came after reports in recent weeks linked him with a move to Real Madrid. Inside Chelsea, they remark was interpreted as disrespectful and poorly timed, with Liam Rosenior insisting the 25-year-old had crossed a line.

Fernández was subsequently suspended for their next two games, missing the FA Cup win over Port Vale and the upcoming clash with Manchester City.

Javier Pastore, his agent, initially labelled the decision as fair. He then hinted Fernández may consider a move after the 2026 World Cup. Now, though, his tone has changed.
