This summer could mark a significant turning point for Alejandro Garnacho amid claims he's been approached directly by a rival boss. However, it's not quite the type of attention the Argentina international might have anticipated one year after departing Manchester United to sign for Chelsea.

Garnacho, 21, is believed to have been regarded as a disruptive influence in United's dressing room before his Old Trafford departure. The winger criticised Ruben Amorim after being omitted by his former manager towards the conclusion of that period, moving to the Blues last summer in a £40million transfer. And after enduring difficulties under Liam Rosenior, Argentinian broadcaster TyC has claimed he's now a target for River Plate. So much so that boss Eduardo Coudet is purported to have made contact personally in the hope of attracting the player.

It's understood River Plate are keen on securing Garnacho on a one-year loan, which Chelsea could be receptive to. A temporary arrangement would afford Garnacho an opportunity to recapture his finest form away from the spotlight of the Premier League.
