Young Evertonians and their families enjoyed an Easter treat as they watched their heroes train at Hill Dickinson Stadium this week.

The open training session for the first team on Tuesday was one of the highlights of Junior Fan Takeover Week, which sees the doors thrown open to give Junior Blues aged 16 and under, along with their families, the chance to experience the club’s new home in a fresh and exciting way.

David Moyes put the players through their paces in a tailored session that gave watching fans a fascinating insight into the work that goes into preparing the team for a Premier League matchday. Junior Fan Takeover Week, which coincides with the Easter school holiday, sees Hill Dickinson Stadium host a packed programme of activities.

There is still limited availability for the club’s Mini Tunnel Tours, which allow young Blues to experience feel the rumble of the sirens and Z-Cars, sit in David Moyes’ seat in the dugout, pose in the press conference chair, and walk out through the new players’ tunnel – just like the Everton squad. All activities – aside from the tours – are free of charge and open to junior supporters.
