Aston Villa continue their Europa League campaign on Thursday against Bologna in the quarter-finals.

Unai Emery’s side have won 13 of their last 15 European matches including seven in a row, which is the longest victorious sequence in the club's history.

Villa are generating revenue from their exploits in the Europa League - a competition Emery will be eager to win, having lifted the trophy four times previously with Sevilla and Villarreal.

This week, they take on Bologna with the objective of taking a result back to Birmingham for next Thursday's second leg in B6, but won't have played in 18 days, since beating West Ham before the March international break.

Each team that qualifies for the Europa League is guaranteed £3.7 million just for taking part.

For each win in the league phase, clubs earn £390,000, while a draw brings in £130,000.

Therefore, after winning seven league phase matches, Villa banked £2.73 million from that stage of the competition.
