Dominik Szoboszlai has been branded 'arrogant' following his confrontation with travelling Liverpool supporters after their embarrassing 4-0 thrashing at the hands of Manchester City. Despite a promising start, Arne Slot's side were demolished at the Etihad Stadium, with the defeat sending them crashing out of the FA Cup.

Liverpool were given an allocation of 8,000 supporters for the quarter-final, yet the overwhelming majority had left before the final whistle. City had already raced into a four-goal lead before the hour mark, largely courtesy of Erling Haaland's hat-trick, and the Reds' misery was compounded when Mohamed Salah saw a late penalty saved.

Szoboszlai and his team-mates trudged over to the handful of fans who had remained after the final whistle, and he appeared visibly displeased with the criticism being directed at the players. The Hungarian midfielder attempted to rally Liverpool's resilient supporters, who were forced to endure yet another mortifying defeat in what has been a thoroughly dreadful season.

After repeatedly shrugging his shoulders, Szoboszlai stopped clapping and began gesturing with his arms. The 25-year-old appeared unable to elicit the response he sought and was ultimately ushered away by Federico Chiesa.
