Tottenham Hotspur have finally managed to bring in Roberto De Zerbi as their new permanent head coach after many past failed attempts.

The 46-year-old has taken over from Igor Tudor, who was sacked after just one win in his seven games in interim charge. He is Spurs’ third head coach of the campaign after Thomas Frank was dismissed with Lilywhites rooted in a battle to retain their Premier League status.

Roberto De Zerbi is not the interim solution that would calmly steer the club to safety before making way for another managerial appointment. Instead, the Italian is a long-term hire, as evidenced by a five-year contract he’s penned, who will be responsible for rebuilding the squad after keeping Tottenham safe in the Premier League.

With just seven games remaining, De Zerbi’s first task is lifting the side out of a relegation battle. On Wednesday, he spoke as the new Tottenham boss for the first time, addressing the supporters in a message posted to the club’s social media channels.
