Harry Maguire has been charged by the Football Association for his reaction following his red card in Man United's 2-2 draw against Bournemouth.

The Man United defender was sent off after being adjudged to have pulled back Evanilson in the penalty area in their Premier League clash last month.

Maguire had contested his dismissal with referee Stuart Atwell and fourth official Matt Donohue after VAR had ratified the decision.

Junior Kroupi equalised from the resulting penalty, as Bournemouth fought back to earn a point against Michael Carrick's side.

'Harry Maguire has been charged after being sent off in the 78th minute of Manchester United FC's Premier League match against AFC Bournemouth on Friday 20 March,' an FA statement read.

'It's alleged that the defender acted in an improper manner and/or used abusive and/or insulting words and/or behaviour towards the fourth official following his dismissal.
