Manchester United's first 3pm kick-off of 2026 will come at Sunderland on Saturday 9 May.

The Premier League game marks our first senior visit to the Stadium of Light since 9 April 2017, when Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Marcus Rashford scored in a 3-0 victory.

The Black Cats have exceeded all expecations upon their return to the top flight, including doing the double over their fierce rivals Newcastle United, but were beaten 2-0 in the reverse fixture at Old Trafford.

Senne Lammens made his debut, keeping a clean sheet, as Mason Mount and Benjamin Sesko found the net.

This is only a fourth 3pm start of the campaign, with one of the others being that 2-0 victory against the Wearsiders.

The others were the home win over Burnley in early October and, most recently, the 2-2 draw away to Nottingham Forest, way back on 1 November.

The announcement of the latest round of television selections means only our clash at home to Forest, currently scheduled for Sunday 17 May, needs to be confirmed...
