Arsenal are plotting an audacious swoop to sign Real Madrid attacking midfielder Arda Güler, according to TEAMtalk.

Following an impressive debut season in Spain that saw him net eight goal contributions in La Liga, the youngster has become a mainstay in the starting lineup this season and has been influential to the team’s progress both under former coach Xabi Alonso and newly appointed interim boss Alvaro Arbeloa.

This season, Güler, valued at £78m by Transfermarkt, has been one of Madrid’s most reliable forwards, repaying the faith with 13 assists, the joint-most of any Madrid player alongside Vinicius, while also netting five goals.

With the summer transfer window fast approaching, the versatile midfielder is set to become a subject of keen interest from several clubs looking to reinforce their squad next season.

One of the clubs looking to sign Güler is Arsenal, according to TEAMtalk, which claims that the Premier League leaders have formally expressed interest in signing the Turkey international.
