Fulham’s pursuit of PSV Eindhoven striker Ricardo Pepi could cost them an extra €10m after they recently pulled out of the deal.

That’s according to the #DoneDeal podcast from Voetbal Primeur, who explain that Fulham have shot themselves in the foot over the American.

Fulham walk away from deal

Fulham walked away from a deal for Pepi earlier this month despite finally reaching an agreement with PSV Eindhoven for the 23-year-old.

That deal had been ongoing since January, when Fulham tried to sign Pepi late in the window. PSV resisted at the time, but negotiations continued after the January transfer window closed.

A €40m deal was on the cards, before Fulham eventually walked away over a disagreement with PSV over when they would take responsibility for the striker.

Pepi was left ‘severely disappointed’ after travelling to Craven Cottage for a medical.

Now, according to the podcast, the decision to cancel could come back to haunt Fulham. They believe Ricardo Pepi could end up costing more than €40m.
