Aston Villa should be braced for summer transfer interest in Morgan Rogers.

That’s according to former Villa striker Andy Gray, who had two spells at the club and made more than 150 appearances.

The ex-forward turned pundit believes Unai Emery might need to persuade Rogers to stay at Villa next season and expects more speculation after the World Cup.

Rogers, who has five years left on his current contract, was the subject of interest last summer and after a rough start has responded well as Villa compete for a return to the Champions League.

Speaking about Rogers’ future Gray told BetSelect.co.uk: “Yes, of course. He has an amazing talent that others will want to get their hands on. It’ll take a lot of money to shift him.

“I think it depends on how persuasive Unai Emery can be. He’ll hopefully say to him ‘Listen, we’re moving forward, look at the improvement we’ve made in the last two years’.
