Dominik Szoboszlai has urged Liverpool to 'wake up' after they were met with boos from the crowd following Sunday's 1-1 stalemate against Tottenham.

Szoboszlai, 25, had given the Reds the lead with a stunning first-half free-kick, and Arne Slot's team looked set to clinch a crucial victory until Richarlison grabbed a last-minute equaliser for Spurs.

Upon the final whistle, boos and jeers echoed around Anfield from disgruntled Liverpool fans, expressing their disappointment at failing to defeat a Spurs side embroiled in a Premier League relegation scrap.

When questioned about the Liverpool fans' booing, Szoboszlai told Sky Sports: "I didn't hear the boos but we can understand them because last season we became champions but this season we are not performing in a way we should be.

"But I think they should stand behind us because last season, when we were champions, four games before the end everybody...
