Mansfield Town 1-2 Arsenal

Eberechi Eze came off the bench to fire us into the quarter-final of the FA Cup, in a testing cup tie away to Mansfield Town. 

Eze twisted and turned past his marker before rifling home, to book our place in the last eight, but we were made to work every inch of the way by our League One opponents. 

Noni Madueke had earlier given us a first-half lead with a well-taken goal of his own after an evenly-contested first half hour.

The home side gave just as good as they got, racking up 11 shots in the first half, and drawing level soon after the restart through Will Evans. 

Eze’s rocked was decisive though, as our quest for a record-extending 15th FA Cup continues.

Challenging start

Mikel Arteta made nine changes to the side that beat Brighton in midweek, among the players brought in were 16 year olds Max Dowman and Marli Salmon. And it was the the former – becoming our youngest ever FA Cup player at the age of 16 and 66 days - who had our first chance of the game in the opening five minutes.
