There is positive news for Chelsea on the injury front after defeat to Arsenal, with a huge game at Aston Villa coming up on Wednesday.

The Blues were beaten 2-1 at the Emirates on Sunday, losing ground in the race for the top five and qualification for next season’s Champions League.

Liam Rosenior’s side sit sixth in the Premier League, three points behind Liverpool in fifth and six adrift of Aston Villa in fourth.

Chelsea go to Villa Park on Wednesday with a great chance to gain ground on their hosts, but obviously with the risk of their European hopes being damaged.

Rosenior delivered the team news in a press conference on Monday afternoon and firstly gave a positive update on Cole Palmer.

The England international went down in concerning fashion during the first half at the Emirates, but got up and played on until being replaced late in the game.

The manager confirmed it was not an issue with his long-standing groin problem and Palmer is expected to be available against Villa.
