Tottenham Hotspur’s relegation worries continued on Sunday afternoon as they were beaten 2-1 by London rivals Fulham. The 2-1 defeat at Craven Cottage extended the Lilywhites’ winless Premier League run to 10 matches, leaving them precariously placed in 16th position with just 10 games remaining.

Fulham got an early opener with Harry Wilson netting in the seventh minute- his ninth of the campaign. However, the goal was controversial as Spurs interim boss Igor Tudor felt it should have been disallowed as “cheat” Raul Jimenez pushed Radu Dragusin as they challenged for a Kenny Tete cross, before Oscar Bobb picked out Wilson to volley home past a hapless Guglielmo Vicario from six yards out.

Alex Iwobi doubled the home side’s lead in the 34th minute with a goal from 18 yards out, with his shot going in off the inside of the post after a tidy exchange with Wilson. Fulham spurned many chances not to finish off the game, and Marco Silva’s fears became real when Tottenham halved the deficit in the 66th minute with a Richarlison header.
