Tottenham Hotspur will be desperate to dip in the summer market to address the glaring issues in their squad after a torrid domestic campaign.

There is a clear need for Spurs to reinforce their defensive department. The club brought in teenage left-back Souza in the winter window to act as a back-up for Destiny Udogie. Persistent thigh issues have restricted Udogie from developing his game in the last two seasons. The Italian has endured another injury-hit campaign, missing several games in the process.

Udogie is currently sidelined with a hamstring injury suffered in the 2-0 defeat to Manchester United earlier this month. There are perhaps concerns now over the 23-year-old’s fitness and whether he should be Tottenham’s first-choice left-back in the future. As such, it looks like the North Londoners are planning to add a new left-back to their roster in the summer.

According to a report from TEAMtalk, Tottenham could battle Newcastle United for the signing of Wolves left-back Hugo Bueno.
