The Champions League last-16 draw takes place today, with Arsenal, Chelsea, Tottenham, Liverpool, Manchester City and Newcastle all set to discover their opponents. Six Premier League sides have progressed to the knockout stage, and following this week's conclusion of the play-off round, they are about to learn their potential routes to the final.
Arsenal finished top of the league phase with an impeccable record of eight victories from eight fixtures and are the bookmakers' favourites to secure their maiden Champions League trophy. Chelsea, Tottenham, Liverpool, Manchester City and Newcastle are also in contention for some prestigious encounters, as European giants like Real Madrid, Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich are amongst the 16 teams awaiting the draw.
Earlier this week, each English side that qualified for the last 16 knew they could be paired with one of four possible teams. Now, with the play-offs complete, that number has been reduced to two ahead of Friday's draw.
