Spanish journalist Jorge C. Picon broke fresh Chelsea transfer news on February 25, 2026. He reported that Chelsea have formally reached out to Fran González’s representatives to show their interest. The Blues see the 20-year-old Spaniard as a long-term answer in goal. Real Madrid, however, do not share that same vision for his future at the Bernabéu right now.

González was born on June 24, 2005, in León and stands at a massive 6ft 7in. He worked his way up through Real Madrid’s famous La Fábrica academy before securing a spot in the Castilla setup. He made his senior Real Madrid debut this season, playing the full 90 minutes in a La Liga loss to Valencia. Still, González hasn’t seen the pitch again since that game.
