Manchester United’s budget for the summer transfer window will be strongly influenced by their European fate.

A failure to secure Champions League football would leave United with a meagre transfer budget, which could potentially impact their plans to overhaul their midfield.

However, United are not waiting around to put themselves in a strong position to secure the signing of one of the Premier League’s most exciting young wingers.

Earlier this week, The Peoples Person relayed a report claiming Manchester United have held initial talks with Mateus Mane‘s agent in recent days.

Mane’s emergence has been a rare bright spot in a miserable season for Wolverhampton Wanderers, getting fans off their seats with his mesmerising footwork and explosive pace.

In January, Mane became Wolves’ youngest ever Premier League goalscorer at 18 years and 109 days old.

However, with Wolves destined to be relegated to the Championship, it is going to be very difficult for the Midlands side to keep hold of the Portuguese-born versatile forward.

According to Teamtalk, Mane has been identified as a “top target” by United, but the Red Devils face competition from six other Premier League clubs as well as Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich.
