Sean Neave has described making his Newcastle United debut in Baku as "a surreal moment" after being told to get ready for his dream moment by Eddie Howe.

The 6ft Academy product from Winlaton, a former pupil at Thorp Academy, has been named as an unused substitute 14 times this season. But finally got thrown on to the action without any real warning in the 6-1 win over Qarabag in Baku.

Neave has been held back from going out on loan after scoring 36 goals and making 12 assists for the reserves and youth team. But as ever with Howe, he clearly has a plan for the teenager and the boyhood Newcastle-born Toon fan.

Neave told Chronicle Live exclusively: "It's been a long time coming - but I appreciate all the opportunities the gaffer and the coaching staff have afforded me so far on my journey.
