Lucasz Fabianski has claimed he had the opportunity to sign for Everton in the summer.

The goalkeeper was out of contract with West Ham United and heavily linked with a reunion with David Moyes, with whom he won the Europa Conference League with West Ham United in 2023.

His availability coincided with an overhaul of the Blues’ goalkeeping department as Joao Virginia and Asmir Begovic both left Finch Farm before the arrivals of Mark Travers and Tom King.

Fabianski, 40, said he had the opportunity to take what became Travers’ spot as Jordan Pickford’s deputy when his contract at the London Stadium expired.
