Shrewsbury boosted their survival bid with an impressive 3-1 win over Swindon in League Two.

The Shrews went in level at the break after Billy Kirkman's added-time strike cancelled out Iwan Morgan's early opener.

But the hosts put in a controlled second-half performance and secured back-to-back wins thanks to goals from George Lloyd and Nick Freeman.

Shrewsbury looked sharp from the off and hit the front after seven minutes when Morgan tapped home Luca Hoole's free-kick from close range.

Matthew Cox made a fantastic save to keep out Ollie Clarke's header four minutes before the break.

Morgan missed a glorious chance to double Shrewsbury's advantage when he hit the bar in added time.

It proved to be a costly miss when Kirkman levelled seconds later with the aid of a deflection.

Lloyd restored Shrewsbury's lead after slotting home Kevin Berkoe's cross from close range on 58 minutes.

Freeman made the points safe with a composed finish after Swindon failed to clear a corner with eight minutes to go.
