Manchester United head coach Michael Carrick has praised three players for their contribution to the 1-1 draw against West Ham United.

The Red Devils appeared destined for their first defeat under Carrick before substitute Benjamin Sesko produced a thunderous 96th-minute equaliser to rescue a point.

While Sesko rightfully grabbed the headlines, it was Leny Yoro who had quietly ensured the deficit remained manageable with two heroic defensive interventions at 1-0.

The United head coach took the time to praise Yoro for his courage in decisive moments.

He said (via ManUtd.com): “Leny [Yoro] has done great, two counter-attacks and putting two big challenges in, Bryan [Mbeumo]’s recovery runs, Amad’s recovery runs.

“It’s quite easy to lose that game 2-0 in those circumstances, but that’s when the spirit counts and I’ve spoke to the players about that.”

In the 91st minute, Callum Wilson burst down the right flank and shaped to pull the trigger, only for Yoro to execute a perfectly timed, goal-saving sliding challenge.

Two minutes later, the 20-year-old bailed United again.
