Tottenham Hotspur finally opted to sack Thomas Frank after their 2-1 home defeat to Newcastle United on Tuesday night, and they are now searching for a manager who can come and turn their form around.

Spurs have dropped to 16th in the table, just two points above 17th-placed Nottingham Forest and five from the dreaded relegation zone. One of the options the North London club are exploring is bringing in an interim manager until the end of the season, before seeking a long-term solution in the summer.

Enzo Maresca and Roberto De Zerbi are seemingly in the frame for the job, while John Heitinga is an option on an interim basis to bring much-needed stability at the club. Regardless of the managerial situation, the club bosses haven’t stopped planning for the future in terms of reshaping the squad. They seem to be keen on adding a creative player to address the team’s chronic problems in creating and scoring goals this season.
