Leon Goretzka’s situation is once again gathering attention heading towards the summer window, with both Tottenham and Arsenal linked.

Tottenham Hotspur were keen on landing Leon Goretzka in the winter transfer window on deadline day as they sought midfield reinforcement.

However, no deal came to fruition, with the German instead opting to remain in Munich with the German champions.

Bayern Munich’s sporting director, Christoph Freund, also came out to pour cold water on reports linking Goretzka with a move away from Germany in the winter, stating that the midfielder will see out the remainder of the season.

Goretzka, however, has less than six months left on his contract and is expected to become a free agent in the summer, with no plans of renewing his contract at Bayern beyond this summer.

That means Spurs could land the midfielder on a free transfer should they move to sign him in the next couple of months.

Fresh reports now state that Arsenal are also in the race for the Bayern midfielder. It is claimed that the Gunners are ready to fight Tottenham for the signature of Goretzka in the summer.
