Manchester City head coach Andree Jeglertz watched his side lose only their second Women’s Super League match of the season as they fell 1-0 to Arsenal.

But his team are still eight points clear at the top of the table – and afterwards, Jeglertz dismissed the idea that he was at all concerned.

“I’m not worried at all, there’s no doubt that we’ll bounce back,” he said after the match, according to the club’s official website.

“The players gave everything at the end, but we know the rest of the league will be tough, so we need to handle that in a good way, then we’ll be fine.”

Olivia Smith scored the only goal of the game in the first half, with City having plenty of chances in the second – including a penalty shout when Lauren Hemp was brought down by Mariona Caldentey.

However, referee Abigail Byrne was not at all interested in the claim.

Vivianne Miedema – returning to her former club – got the ball into the back of the net but the whistle had already gone for a foul on Katie McCabe during the build-up.
