Tottenham Hotspur are one of two clubs that had offers turned down for a Premier League winger in the dying stages of the transfer window.

Rather than strengthening their attack in January, Spurs actually weakened it, selling Brennan Jonson to Crystal Palace and failing to bring in a replacement.

Tottenham fans were left frustrated by the club’s inability to reinforce their forward line, but the Lilywhites did reportedly make a late move for a winger who recently scored against them.

In the dying stages of the window, it emerged that Spurs were plotting a shock £25m offer for the West Ham winger, and it turns out they were not the only ones to do so.

The player in question is Crysencio Summerville, who has hit a rich vein of form over recent weeks, having scored four goals in his last four outings for Nuno Espirito Santo’s men, including a goal at N17 against Spurs.

A report in Voetbal International has now claimed that Tottenham were keen on adding Summerville to their squad and that they submitted a late offer to West Ham.
