Manchester United player Patrick Dorgu has been nominated for two elite awards after a brilliant January.

Dorgu has been one of the biggest beneficiaries since Ruben Amorim’s departure, reaching new heights under both Darren Fletcher and current interim head coach Michael Carrick.

The Dane registered a sublime assist in the 2-2 draw with Burnley, delivering a brilliant low cross inside the danger area that was turned in by Benjamin Sesko.

Dorgu followed that up by scoring the second goal in United’s dominant 2-0 win over cross-town rivals Manchester City. He demonstrated great instincts and determination to power past Rico Lewis and guide Matheus Cunha’s ball into the back of the net.

The former Lecce man rounded off January in superb style, netting a banger in the sensational 3-2 triumph against Arsenal at the Emirates. He found the top corner with a screamer following a smooth exchange between himself and Bruno Fernandes.

Unfortunately for Dorgu, he picked up an injury in the Arsenal game which ruled him out of last weekend’s Fulham game. He is expected to be out for 10 weeks.
