Cristian Romero has once again voiced his concerns about the Tottenham Hotspur board, and it is hard to disagree with him based on the lack of transfer activity in the past month.

Disappointment surrounds the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium as the transfer window slams shut. Injuries have seen the Tottenham first-team squad brought to their knees, yet there are only two new arrivals.

Spurs are languishing in 14th in the Premier League table and the club’s supporters now fear the worst for what remains of the season.

But guess what, this is a description of the situation Tottenham found themselves in after the mid-season transfer window last year. Shockingly, the circumstances at this present moment are not just similar, they are literally identical.

Despite Thomas Frank desperately needing players, Spurs have only made two signings, and neither were the kind of big name the fans were hoping for.
