In January, TuttoSport reported Leeds United’s offer for Como’s Martin Baturina.

The newspaper said the Whites put forward €30m, plus bonuses in a permanent deal. Como were quick to issue a response to this, rejecting the bid.

This came after Cesc Fabregas had talked down Leeds United’s interest in Baturina, who has only grown in stature in the last few weeks.

They appear certain before Leeds United’s offer, Fiorentina had tried to sign the attacker. That is when Baturina had only started playing regularly. La Viola wanted to take advantage of what could’ve been a frustrating situation.

They put forward a loan with an option to buy, but Como rejected this approach too.

They see the 22-year-old as a future star, especially since Nico Paz is unlikely to stay beyond this season.
