According to reports from Pete O’Rourke of Football Insider, Aberdeen went all out for a last-minute loan deal for Everton defender Reece Welch. They made their move right as the winter transfer window was closing. The Scottish club hoped to get the centre-back signed before the 11 pm deadline. They tried to take advantage of the fact that the Scottish window stayed open a bit longer than the English one.

While the Dons wanted to strengthen their defence, Welch looked like he was sliding down the pecking order at Goodison Park. He’s currently playing under David Moyes.
