Former Manchester United star Brandon Williams has left Hull City by mutual consent after making just one appearance for the club.

Williams, 25, only joined the Championship high-flyers in August having not played a professional game for 20 months - and been without a club for 14 months. 

In May 2025, Williams was handed a 14-month prison sentence, suspended for two years, after crashing his Audi A3 at almost 100mph on August 20, 2023. He was convicted of dangerous driving. 

The 25-year-old, who was once paid £3.4million a year as a promising young defender, had been 'driving erratically' in his Audi A3 before hitting a Ford Fiesta and careering into the central reservation of the A34 in Cheshire. 

He joined Hull City after impressing on trial in pre-season, but he made a sole five-minute substitute appearance against Blackburn Rovers in August. Williams hadn't featured in a matchday squad since November. 

A club statement read: 'Hull City can confirm that full-back Brandon Williams has left the club by mutual agreement.
