West Ham signed Axel Disasi on loan from Chelsea very late in the January transfer window.
The centre-back is yet to play this season and the move to the Hammers will give him a chance to get playing time.
Before a switch to West Ham, Disasi had emerged as an option for clubs in Italy.
Last week, Gazzetta dello Sport spoke of Fiorentina’s interest in the 27-year-old. They had also held key talks for the defender.
More recently, Calciomercato reported that AC Milan were also a suitor. Rossoneri sporting director Igli Tare prepared to make a late push and waited for Chelsea’s approval.
It seems like there is still some regret in Milan about the failure to sign the centre-back.
Journalist Carlo Pellegatti spoke about Disasi on his Youtube channel. The Italian made it clear that the Chelsea player could’ve been perfect for Max Allegri. He also clarified that the manager was keen on him and his opinion didn’t play a role in the deal falling through.
