Leeds United ended the January window with one signing that cost nothing to acquire. Facundo Buonanotte’s loan arrival from Brighton & Hove Albion means Leeds - maxed out on PSR limits - have sustained a net gain in quality overall.

However, some fans have expressed worry over how this will pan out over the second half of the season given relegation rivals have, in the main, been more active. In fact between them, £137.8million has been spent this month.

Some £83m of this was spent by Crystal Palace, who sit just three points ahead of Leeds and, of course, won the race for Jorgen Strand Larsen amid their £48m punt.
