Manchester United left it until the final moments but confirmed a loan deal for youngster James Scanlon to Swindon Town. The announcement came through at 18.59 on the club's website, just moments before the 7pm transfer deadline.

The Red Devils didn't make any signings during January but witnessed several deals materialise on deadline day. Ethan Wheatley moved to Bradford, having returned from Northampton earlier this month.

Gabriele Biancheri secured a move to Rotherham until the end of the season, whilst Jacob Devaney is poised to join St Mirren in Scotland, where the deadline falls later. Tyrell Malacia was not allowed to make an exit from the club and will now see out his contract at Old Trafford.
