Everton firmly rejected a loan enquiry from Juventus for striker Beto. This happened as the January transfer window hit its final hours. Insider Ben Jacobs confirmed the news by sharing Alex Crook’s original report. Crook’s report shows the Merseysiders won’t let their physical forward leave in the middle of the season.
The Italian giants wanted to bring the Guinea-Bissau attacker back to Serie A on a short-term deal. They hoped to give their attack more options. However, Everton don’t want to lose any squad depth right now. They are still fighting to stay steady in the Premier League. At the same time, the Toffees are trying to secure Chelsea youngster Tyrique George. That deal is a loan with a chance to buy him later.
Everton’s bosses realised that losing Beto now would leave a huge hole. It would mess up how they play on the pitch. The 28-year-old striker hasn’t been very consistent this season. Even so, he’s still a big physical presence.
