Despite witnessing the dramatic turnaround that led to another three points disappearing as West Ham creep ever nearer relegation, Claret and Hugh reader ‘Martin61’ reckons there’s been a welcome change and still something about which he can stay optimistic as he looks beyond the end of this season.

Rare optimism indeed just now, and it deserves a wider audience.

“An interesting quandary. We’ve got 2x new strikers who, whilst not looking a serious threat in front of goal, have transformed our performances. They are by all accounts Nuno’s picks.

We have changed formation to free up Bowen and Summerville, who have both improved hugely. Nuno’s decision.

We have changed tactics, pressing from the front. Nuno’s decision.

The whole team appear energised and motivated. Nuno’s leadership.

Results and performances the last 4 weekends have changed the whole mood at LS and amongst the travelling fans.
