David Moyes is hopeful Everton will strengthen the squad before the transfer deadline on Monday evening. The Blues boss was asked whether there could be any incomings in the final days of the window after the dramatic 1-1 draw at Brighton & Hove Albion.

Moyes replied: “Yes, I do.” He would not elaborate and stressed there was a chance no business would be done.

But his immediate reaction was a positive one and his words came with Everton exploring a potential deal for Chelsea teenager Tyrique George.

While reports that the signing of the attacking starlet is close are said to be premature, the Blues do have an interest in the player, who can operate on the left wing and as a striker.

Such a move would be a welcome boost for an Everton side still reeling from the loss of Jack Grealish to injury.
