The wheels of justice, when it comes to football, appear to be moving slower than ever.

It seems an age since the Hatters were knocked out of the Vertu Trophy by the EFL League Two side, Swindon Town, in dubious circumstances.

If you recall, Swindon Town, managed by Ian Holloway, fielded a player, Ollie Clarke, who was midway through a 7-game ban after committing an offence, that is described by – The BBC – as:

“Committing “highly violating and intentional foul play” on two opponents’ “private body parts” in Swindon’s Carabao Cup defeat by Cardiff City in August.”

Not your average kind of charge!

While another Swindon Town player, Aaron Drinan, came on as a substitute in the second half, despite not being named on the team sheet that was submitted to the officials.

Well, it seems that the situation involving Ollie Clarke has been resolved.

Apparently, Ollie Clarke has been given an additional one-game ban with a fine of £1000 being handed out.

To me, it is a smack in the face and doesn’t seem right it is almost, I believe, a let-off.
