The wheels of justice, when it comes to football, appear to be moving slower than ever. It seems an age since the Hatters were knocked out of the Vertu Trophy by the EFL League Two side, Swindon Town, in dubious circumstances. If you recall, Swindon Town, managed by Ian Holloway, fielded a player, Ollie Clarke, who was midway through a 7-game ban after committing an offence, that is described by – The BBC – as: “Committing “highly violating and intentional foul play” on two opponents’ “private body parts” in Swindon’s Carabao Cup defeat by Cardiff City in August.” Not your average kind of charge!
