Liverpool have joined Arsenal, Manchester City, Chelsea, Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur in the last-16 of the Champions League.

Following a 6-0 win over Qarabag on Wednesday, the Reds ended the group phase in third place on 18 points behind Bayern Munich and table-topping Arsenal.

That means Liverpool are into the last-16 automatically and will not have to compete in the play-offs next month.

Arne Slot’s side could face four teams in the next round of the competition, including Federico Chiesa’s former side, Juventus.

As well as Liverpool and Arsenal, all of Chelsea, Spurs and Newcastle managed to finish inside the top eight, with Bayern, FC Barcelona and Sporting the only non-English sides to earn automatic qualification.
