Wycombe Wanderers attacker James Tilley has returned to AFC Wimbledon on loan six months after leaving the Wombles to join the Chairboys.

The 27-year-old made 101 appearances in all competitions in two seasons with the Dons, scoring 17 goals.

He played the entirety of their League Two play-off final victory over Walsall at Wembley last May in his final game for the club.

Tilley has only made three appearances for Wycombe since injuring his hamstring in September, and has played 13 times in total for the club - starting just once in League One.

"I'm buzzing to be honest. Obviously, last year was a really special year - I'm just really happy to get this move done and hopefully create something special again," he told the Wimbledon website, external.

"This is a club that is very close to my heart, with unbelievable fans."

Born in Sussex, Tilley's career began with Brighton & Hove Albion before he joined Grimsby Town in 2020.
