Brian Sorensen has provided an injury update on Katja Snoeijs after the Everton striker was taken off on a stretcher during the Toffees’ 2-0 defeat to Manchester City.

What happened to Katja Snoeijs?

Katja Snoeijs went down with an injury just before half-time during Everton’s 2-0 defeat to Women’s Super League leaders Manchester City.

The 29-year-old Dutch international was running towards the ball when she suddenly pulled up and dropped to the ground.

She held on to the back of her ankle and looked in considerable pain. Medical staff tended to her on the pitch and after a four-minute delay, she was taken off on a stretcher and replaced by Kelly Gago, who has submitted a transfer request.

How long will Katja Snoeijs be out for?

Brian Sorensen has confirmed that Snoeijs will be out of action for between four and six weeks.

The Everton head coach confirmed the news in a press conference ahead of their FA Cup clash with West Bromwich Albion on Thursday night.
