Crystal Palace are in the mix to sign KRC Genk’s Zakaria El Ouahdi in the winter market.

On January 8th, Het Laatste Nieuws reported Oliver Glasner’s side have concrete interest in the right-back. They also suggested he may on the verge of changing clubs this month.

A day later, Africa Foot stated Crystal Palace were in advanced talks over a move for the 24-year-old. They added the Jupiler Pro League side are open to selling the player in January for a fee around €10-12m.

Both Everton and Benfica are also showing interest in a move for the Moroccan. Monday’s edition of Het Belang van Limburg has published an interview with the fullback, and he was asked about all the links.

Daniel Muñoz is first choice right-back at Selhurst Park. He’s been on the sidelines with a knee since the start of December. Caleb Kporha hasn’t featured this season due an injury. This leaves Glasner with 34-year-old Nathaniel Clyne as the only recognised right-back at his disposal.

El Ouahdi could be an option for the FA Cup winners this month. HBVL directly asked about the reports linking him to Everton, VfB Stuttgart and specifically Crystal Palace because of Muñoz’s injury.
