Eddie Howe admits he would have no qualms asking Lewis Miley to step into the heart of his defence in the FA Cup against AFC Bournemouth.

The 19-year-old, who stands at 6ft 2in, operated at right-back, centre-half and centre-midfield in the stunning 4-3 win over Leeds United. Miley was forced to drop back into the heart of defence after Fabian Schar went off with a twisted knee with the ex-Swiss star certain to be out against AFC Bournemouth at the weekend.

Howe already has Dan Burn, Jamaal Lascelles and Emil Krafth out of action on FA Cup third round day. Only Dutchman Sven Botman, not close to full fitness, and Malick Thiaw are available against the Cherries plus youngster Alex Murphy who will be in contention on Saturday.
