Everton have reportedly seen a bid for Real Betis defender Natan rejected. The Spanish side are not keen on selling the Brazilian centre-back any time soon.

Ficherio report that, according to sources within the club, Everton have ‘once again approached’ Betis with a ‘substantial financial offer’ for the defender. They submitted a formal bid of €25m to acquire his services.

Betis’ sporting director, Manu Fajardo, provided an ‘immediate and decisive’ response, though. It was rejected outright. They have no intention of selling the defender any time soon. They believe he is a player with considerable long-term potential.

The belief is that letting Natan go now would be a sporting mistake. They can see the value in a transfer from a financial sense, but only if the offer from Everton ‘increases considerably’. More money would allow them to enter the market with more confidence and find a replacement.
