David Moyes believes it is more "unlikely than likely" that Everton will do business in the January transfer window. But the Blues boss is not ruling out making additions to his threadbare squad this month as he admits the returning Harrison Armstrong is ready to start.

Moyes has been comfortable with the size of his playing ranks throughout the season but he is currently down to the bare bones with Idrissa Gueye and Iliman Ndiaye away with Senegal at the Africa Cup of Nations and with Carlos Alcaraz, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall and Seamus Coleman having joined long-term injury victim Jarrad Branthwaite on the sidelines.

The outlook should improve by the end of the month but the Scot was once again asked about whether transfers are on the agenda at his press conference to preview Wednesday's Premier League clash at home to Wolves.
